Hammonton Police Fundraiser Supports Breast Cancer

The Hammonton Police Department is taking a colorful approach to promote breast cancer awareness month. That color is Pink.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Hammonton Police Department Badges are going pink to show its support to help “arrest cancer”. Records and Dispatch members will be wearing pink or black shirts emblazoned with the HPD emblem in contrasting color.  Their officers are choosing to wear pink colored Police Badges for their tours of duty to remind those they come in contact with about Breast Cancer Awareness.  All members participating will be making a donation that will be presented to the Hammonton Cancer Foundation at the end of October.

Unfortunately, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.   Early detection is the key to successful treatment.    Please remember to do self exams and schedule a check up with your doctor if you detect anything unusual.
