CHRISTINA RUSH FOUNDATION – christinarush.org.

The Christina M. Rush Foundation was created in memory of our dear friend Chrissy Ruane Rush. Not only is she missed greatly by her family, but also by the many people whose lives she touched in her 38 years. Her family and friends would like to keep her positive and fighting spirit alive by assisting local women who are faced with the same challenging situation that Chrissy tackled daily for two and a half years. The Christina M. Rush Foundation works in a coordinated effort with the South Jersey Cancer Fund to help women from Atlantic, Cumberland and Cape May Counties who are living with cancer. To date, this local foundation has raised more than $400,000, allowing us to provide financial assistance to local women in our tri-county area.

HAMMONTON CANCER FOUNDATION (HCF) hammontoncancerfoundation.org

For over a decade, this local organization has been dedicated to those in need of assistance using the South Jersey Cancer Fund as an outlet. Through their relationship with with SJCF they are committed to achieving their goal by “Helping Their Neighbors.” They sponsor a walk in June and hold a dinner and basket auction every October. Their donations bring their 2019 total to $50,000 and the total to more than $300,000 for the past ten years.

OCEAN CITY HOME CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

The purpose of the Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation is to provide funds to support charitable causes within the bank’s neighboring communities. Just recently, South Jersey Cancer Fund was presented with a $3,000 check in support of cancer patients in need of financial help.

WAWA  FOUNDATION

The Wawa Foundation provides funding to organizations committed to saving and improving lives in the communities Wawa serves. Wawa’s founding family, the Wood family, began the culture of giving back to its communities by supporting the growth and expansion of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Riddle Memorial Hospital in the 1960’s. Wawa unites our common goal of making a difference in the lives of cancer patients who struggle with meeting financial obligations right here in our local community. Just recently, South Jersey Cancer Fund was awarded a $5,000 grant to financially support the services we provide to cancer patients.

HAMILTON FOUNDATION

The Hamilton Family Charitable Trust comprises two generations of the Hamilton family with a long history of philanthropy. Since 1992, the family has been committed to improving educational opportunities for children and youth, a mission established by Dorrance (Dodo) Hamilton (1928–2017), mother and grandmother of the family Trustees. The family convenes multiple times annually to honor this legacy, supporting myriad programs that enhance the lives of the young people they serve.

The Trust helps to create vibrant communities that offer effective, equitable, and well-rounded education for all young people. They support programs that lead to students’ academic excellence in high school and college, and to job readiness.

The Hamilton Family Foundation is a small private family foundation that provides financial support primarily in education. Periodically we receive anonymous donations ranging from $2,000 to $5,000.

EVERY BREATH COUNTS FOUNDATION (LUNG CANCER)

The mission of Every Breath Counts Foundation is to raise awareness and funding for lung cancer research and support programs in the Southern New Jersey Shore area.

Every Breath Counts Foundation was established by a dedicated group of oncology nurses in the Southern New Jersey Shore area.  We have seen the struggle that patients and their families go through battling lung cancer. A large majority of people have had a loved one or dear friend go through that battle.  Unfortunately, lung cancer researchers do not get the funding necessary to eradicate this awful disease compared to other cancers. The Foundation also supports programs that provide services to lung cancer patients and their families.

Every Breath Counts Foundation hosts a “Walk, Run, Survive” at the Ocean City Boardwalk. Most recently, we received $10,000 as proceeds from this event to support the South Jersey Cancer Fund.
